In terms of schools or states, they have different Educational System. But, now Australia is on the process to unify the Educational System. And, School Year is composed of 4 semesters which is started from Jan, Apr, July and Oct. And, there is two months School Holiday from Dec to Jan.
Elementary Education is divided into English, Math, Social, Science, Art Education including Music, Art, Play, etc. and Physical Education including sport, self- development.
From Middle school, there are required subjects such as English, Math, Science and optional subjects such as Second Language, Economy, Art and Music. Because academic report of Grade 11 & 12 and Senior Secondary Certificate taken at the end of Grade 12 are very important, students have to manage their academic grades and living by themselves to go to the University in Australia.
In the case of International students, the younger than 18 years old are required to submit required document to the House of Education and provide that they have parents or legal guardian who lives in Australia to go the State School. But, if students want to go to private schools, they just need to contact the relevant school and don¡¯t need to provide legal guardian. For domestic & international students, there are energetic after-school activities they can enjoy and they also can have Learning Support for supporting teachers. |
