Because Canadian Education is managed by each district, there might be little difference among the districts.

From Middle school, subjects are divided into two parts such as required subjects, optional subject. Students can forward to the next grade by evaluation of each subject, not whole year evaluation.

Most Schools in Canada use Semester or Trimester. School Year begins on September and ends on July of the next year. And, there are two months Summer Holiday, 7 or 10 days Christmas Holiday and one week Spring Holiday.
- Semester; Sep to Dec (1 st semester), Jan to Jun (2 nd semester)
- Trimester; Sep to Dec (1 st semester), Jan to Mar (2 nd semester) and Apr to Jun (3 rd semester)

In case of international student, to enroll at public and private school in Canada, students need to submit relevant documents including the last 2 or 3 years school reports to the School Districts and wait for their judgments. After this process, School Districts recommend appropriate school, organize proper subjects to passed students and support ESL Class additionally.
